Top 10 most annoying players
Hey how’s the weekend going? Today after another annoying player found on pubs I decided to write a top 10 list of the most annoying players you can find inside a public server, also with a good help from our twitter friends.
10. The slot Stealer
Most of the players have one of two public servers where they like to play for a number of reasons. I have mine in my favourite list. Refresh list. All full. Annoying. Then I keep refreshing and refreshing untill I see that a slot got free on that 14 slots server. Quick double click. Connecting…. And.. what the frak just 6 players are playing? Everyone else is spectator? What the hell.. Why are you stealing my slots? I wanna play! Maybe they have to go eat and park the player on spectator mode or they are talking about something or whatever. It’s annoying.
9. The AFK
Usually a slot stealer, the afk is somebody that opened Urban Terror, joined the server and then went to work, lunch or bathroom and left the player there… annoying his teamates and everyone else in the server. WTF.
8. The Noob
By noob I mean somebody who might be actually a 10 years old player who can barely turn on his computer that somehow managed to get UrT running. It starts by killing his teamates before realizing that they are actually in his team. He’s a Negev player of course. He’s somehow always in your way. He throws smokes everywhere. Could degenerate to a cheater or a camper.
7. The camper
The camper is that guy that spends 15 minutes on the metro roof on Turnpike or well hidden in the well on Algeris. He doesn’t even try to look for opponents, they have to search him. Usually a noob, can degenerate into a cheater.
6. The Cyclemap vote caller
Finally I get to play Terrorism or Ricochet… 60 seconds after the beginning of the round somebody called a cyclemap vote. It’s annoying somehow but it’s even more annoying if the vote fails and he calls another one, and another one, and another one until finally the map changes. And he’s the same player that connects to the server in the middle of a round and if he doesn’t like the map calls a cyclevote. WTF let me play!
5. The Whiner
The whiner is often a noob. The whiner is that player that right after he got killed starts accusing of cheating his opponent or worst start insulting him. Perhaps he can’t live with the fact that he got killed. Poor little nerd.
4. The Blocker
The blocker is that annoying bastard that gets in the way while you are running like hell to score a point on CTF. Or that son of a gun that is behind you at narrow when you are trying to avoid a grenade. Usually he gets teamkilled for obvious reason.
3. The Annoying Pro
The annoying pro is usually a very good player (but not always) that keeps annoying everyone on the server. If he gets killed usually is opponent’s luck, lag, bad server, noob teamates and so on. He keeps commenting everyone on the server while waiting to respawn. He might even have an annoying kill bind. Everyone is a noob besides him. He’s the greatness. The awesomeness. The lameness. It’s even more annoying if he’s not that good and just pretends to be a pro.
2. The Teamkiller
The silver medal of lameness, the teamkiller is usually a noob that joined the server just to teamkill his teamates. If there isn’t an admin connected or kick vote enabled it can easily empty a well crowded server. More annoying in team survivor or bomb mode when you have to wait the whole round to play again. And also more annoying if he insults people. Frakkin’ teamkiller.
1. The Cheater
The gold medal of the most annoying players goes to the cheater. The aimbotter is the most annoying and easy to spot. Usually a noob with a negev the cheater becomes even more annoying without an admin or a kick vote. Can easily empty the server. I would like to quote a phrase seen on a forum: Cheating is like masturbation. Feels good while you’re doing it but once you’re finished it only emphasizes how empty and shallow your life really is.

There will always be cheaters, whiners, and just good folks. I’ve been playing since the betas. Over 10 years and this game is still on. Gotta give frozen ice props, they made a hell of a game
Yeah, yeah, campers are the antichrist. Except when you’re playing CTF or Bomb, then it’s called DEFENSE and it’s an important strategy that ALL winning teams use.

Yeah I hate that! It happens alot to me these days.
I’m joining a server.. getting alot of kills.. and all of a sudden i’m a cheater. So I tell them to go spec and see for them self that I don’t cheat.. but instead of doing that they just call a vote and I get kicked. So freaking annoying..>=(
I’m even banned on a server.. lol! I think it’s called SERVERDOR PROFESSIONOL or something like that. Not really what I call a PRO server.. just a bunch of nerds usually there..=/

I agree w/ vonskippy. Talking about camping is always kinda slippery slope, cause first it’s fricking difficult to define and find out what is camping and what is tactical defending, and second it’s also hard to draw the temporal line between camping and “well, I just ran past here and rested for some seconds to reload and bandage myself”. I’m not saying that camping is OK, not at all, I’m just saying that it’s a topic where you have to be very careful.
True, infact I meant the camper in the noobish way possible.
Still on the subject of camping. In a way, a sniper can camp and it’s a wonderful thing if it’s getting numerous kills, no matter what the game mode. Even non-snipers. If you find a place that gives you low exposure and bountiful kills then by all means, camp there. I am not annoyed by campers because I admit, I camp in certain places on certain maps until I’m found, then I rush, change camping spot until it’s safe to go back to the other one, you know, change my strategy.
As well, if someone camps and keeps returning to the same position even after being found, then all the power to that camper. At least you know where he’s gonna be the next time, making the kill that much easier, or get sneaky for the camper kill. Or just avoid the camper’s area completely.
I stopped two seconds to bandage behind a tree and someone called a vote for “stupid camping’. I was jumping all around for 10 minutes before that.
Worst of all, everyone voted yes (even though noone saw me at the same place for more than those 2 seconds)…
Hopefully, an admin !veto’ed.
So, be careful, as Frankie says… I wouldn’t even call someone a camper if he stayed for one entire round at the same spot, but rather wait for 2 or 3 rounds.
What makes you think all players are dudes?
Cause the majority of players are dudes. We account I think 3 ladies playing actively on UrT in our country. Got more? We’re looking to interview the strongest lady that we can find out there.
The Annoying Pro is very common too… and for me, it’s the worst!
I can add one more – the radio spammer. I made a bind to turn the radio off whenever someone start spamming the radio.

AFK: reduce inactivity time (on my server is just 90 sec)
CAMPERS: have you some problem with campers? Then you are not skilled enough to hunt them out. Camping is annoying just when capmer is the last still alive in his team, forcing all dead players to wait for him.
BLOCKER: yes, I hate them! Especially when you are zooming with SR8 and they push you, trying to take up your place wit a LR300!!
TEAMKILLER: just reduce the kill amount for kicking. On my server it is set to 3.
CHEATER: of course. Ban them as soon as you found them. But avoid unfounded accuses. Always take a demo!
You also forgot:
KNIFERS, calling knife an bandage at the end of round
SR8 only’ers: they “decide” that the server is a SR8 only server and try to kick everyone do not like it. If you like SR8 use it but avoid to bother everybody forcing him to use your fuckin gun!
If the Majority likes Sr8, sp what? Neiter you or they (me also) are Server Admins. If you don’t like: Please leave! Thx
I agree here, if the majority agrees to SR8 only, or knife only, of nade only or whatever weird combination, then just find a different server. Of course, it’s different if it’s only one or two players trying to impose their will on an entire server.
What I hate is when you have something going on with 5-6 different people on a server (i.e. sr8 only) and then you get the douche bag who connects and decides that they can use an Auto…. I usually end up !kicking when it happens, and then they get pissy about it…. damn it’s annoying)

you forgot about the radio command spamer. Sure you can turn it off, but most of the time it comes pretty handy even on pubs.

Don’t forget 6a. The one that votes for a cyclemap… then when it passes… disconnects from the server and doesn’t come back. Even more annoying when they whine in chat about a specific map… finally get it voted in… then immediately disconnect. I’ve seen people banned for that. heh

I always thought that cheaters have a really big social problem that leads them to cheat on a fucking video game. What’s the interest in pwning people, and knowing inside of you that you don’t really deserve those wins ?
For me the cheater is the worse one but the annoying pro (or so called pro) isn’t that bad too.

how about the people that dont forgive you if you team kill them even if THEY walked infront of your gun wich has been firing for a considerable amount of time or if they walk in front of your sr8 when your just about to take a shot i just got auto kicked because of this happening alot no one forgives on the server i play on i swear there all retarded as long as you dont go around purposly killing team mates you dont deserved to be kicked i forgive any one on my team who shoots me unless there only tking of course because we could use there help to win the match but the funny thing was i was carrying the team they had like 12 kills 16 deaths will i was on a nice 47 ills and 25 deaths -.- eh

you’ve been playing UrT for a couple months… getting really good… you might be like 36-12 on a server, straight pwning people; and there is ONE KID, OR SOMETIMES TWO, that think you’re cheating. lol. and, these kids are such n00bs that they dont even know what SPECING is… and they are literally retarded…
so.. they start verbally harassing you while you try to play… calling you all kinds of f*cked up things… typing in CAPS etc…
best of all… there is NO ADMIN to kick these neaderthals.
normally these people are verbally abusive, suck at FPS games, and probably havent even graduated high school.
these particular Neanderthal devolved into a TKer (switched to my team specifically to TK me)…. and changed his name to KraftyKiller. lol
honestly some people are retarded; and as you get better at UrT you have to deal with really degenerate peoples psychiatric problems.
i try to ignore them but sometimes you gotta put them in their place. =)
I have identified two other types of annoying players, I think not mentioned here.
1. First is snipers that block passages of all kinds, sometimes even exits from spawn area.
2. People who block a sniper’s escape route. I can’t count the number of times I was killed when I was sniping with SR-8 and got killed when things went awry because there was some idiot standing right behind or next to me, often another sniper! I even made an easy to reach Radio binding for the “Oh, you idiot!” message reserved specially for such occasion. I get to use it at least once per gaming session on a large public server.
I mostly hate the cheaters and the annoying pro. I’m a beginner but gotten used to the game for quite sometime so I didn’t really know what was happening. I don’t really hate campers since I do camp all the time especially when someone did as well so I hunt them but what I hate are those who would camp in your spawn location and kill you and you teammates.
Another hate would be the douchbag who hates the beginners so much that they’d bombard them with comments. He’s a beginner so what would you expect?
I’m quite entertained by the knifers. Oh how ironic it feels to kill them with a knife or how fun it is to have them look for you and pistol whipped them.
And I would like to add that noobs would also degenerate to all of the above (except noob of course).
I hate the annoying asshole pros. By that I don’t mean the skilled regulars of some servers who will kick your ass hard but still be encouraging and courteous to newbs and also forgive them a TK or two. I mean the annoying pros with a 27:5 kill ratio on a TS server who call a “vote-kick” on you for being a n00b and camper as soon as you kill them while you hardly ever stopped at any spot for more than 5 seconds. That’s a great way to encourage new users to play UrT. Vote kick/change map feature is the worst feature of urban terror. It has caused me more frustration in this game than anything else.
A well designed map should not allow for effective camping, at least not for longer than a couple of rounds, be it TS or CTF. If you see an annoying camper, kick their ass hard until they get frustrated enough to change the tactic.
