I personally prefer the DE as I think it has almost the same capability on long ranges but does much more damage. I often use it as a room cleaner or in long narrow corridors, like the support hallway in ut4_swim. I also think it’s superior to the Beretta, because it can do more damage while not having to click as often. That is a big advantage if you’re not trained.

I prefer the Beretta for two reasons. It supports silencer and for my style of game I prefere the amount of bullets instead of precision. I would use Desert Eagle probably only in a 1vs1 match.

The Beretta generally takes longer to kill but is of course much better against those without helmets. If you have bad aim you might also consider the Beretta over the Desert Eagle for its higher ammo capacity. The Deagle, though, dealing much higher damage is better for clutch situations when every shot that lands is likely to kill the opponent, and works much better against helmeted teams.

I actually prefere DE because of its power and precision. In fact often in CTF attackers doesn’t wear kevlar and you can take them down with just 2 shots. It’s one of the most powerful and precise weapons in the game. On the other hand the Beretta is harder to use it to kill people because it doesn’t deal much damage and should be used with additional equipment like Laser or Silencer.

DE is by far superior thanks to its high damage and low recoil when fired quickly. 3 vest shots, or 2 vest and 1 limb shot, will cause death. Many players also find it easier to shoot rapidly.
